The Cripple of Inishmaan
May 21 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
“What happens in Inishmaan….stays in Inishmaan literally. But everyone knows the tittle-tattle…..begorrah!
By the author who traumatised us in The Pillowman, Martin McDonagh’s The Cripple Of Inishmaan is a very different journey.
Set in Ireland on the smallest of the Aran Irelands, Inishmaan is a place isolated by time and space, with a community of (duine) Irish folk driven to cruelty by boredom and ignorance.
It’s 1934. Some big news is sending the residents of Inishmaan into a frenzy – no, it’s not about the sheep with no ears! BIG NEWS!
Crippled Billy Claven sees an opportunity to escape his small town existence. An opportunity for acceptance and a better life. “Be careful what ye wish for…so…..dreams don’t always lead where we expect.”
Join us for Billy’s adventure, wherever it leads.”
