Volunteer

The Civic is a wonderful building, but it takes a lot of looking after and we can use all the help we can get to make it everything we want it to be.  Whether you have the opportunity to make a regular time commitment or just help us on an ad hoc basis, we’d like to hear from you?

Running of The Civic Hall will only be a success with the time, dedication and commitment of a team of volunteers working in a variety of roles. We are pleased that bookings are growing and as use  increases, there will be more and more ways for you to lend a hand.

Volunteers can help with a wide range of activities, for example opening and closing of the building; room set up and take down including tables, chairs, staging and equipment; weekend cleaning and caretaking; answering queries from hirers during their event or activity; ushering/stewarding; general maintenance and repairs, painting and decorating; supporting the running of the café and bar – the list is endless.

Whether you have specific skills and experience, or just the enthusiasm to support your local community and our fabulous venue – we’d really like to hear from you.

As a volunteer at The Civic we can guarantee you’ll have fun, be part of a great team and you’ll get to enjoy a lively programme of events and activities at first hand. You will certainly meet new people and may even gain some new skills and training opportunities.
